Mike began his investment career in the early 1980s in Columbus, OH as a research analyst at the Public Employees Retirement System of Ohio.  He brings a 25+ year investment career to Willingdon Wealth Management, with extensive experience in fundamental analysis and portfolio management.

Mike earned his BBA from St. Bonaventure University in 1981 and his MBA from the University of Michigan in 1983.  He is a CFA and a member of the North Carolina Society of Financial Analysts.

Mike is active in the community through his participation in Stewards of the Game, a Christian youth sports organization he co-founded in 2001.  He is the author of several books including: Coaching Youth Basketball with Faith and Fundamentals, Calling Tom Canning, My Most Meaningful Bible Verses, and Eleven in Heaven.

Tom received his Masters in Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2004 with a concentration in investment management. He received his undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Notre Dame in 1998. Tom is a Chartered Financial Analyst, a Certified Public Accountant, and a member of the North Carolina Society of Financial Analysts.

Tom spent four years at Ernst and Young LLP in Chicago providing audit services for public and private clients in all industries with a focus on the retail, distribution, and manufacturing segment. His largest two clients included a publicly traded leasing corporation and a worldwide logistics corporation. Tom gained investment experience as a high yield analyst at Turner Investment Partners, a firm with assets under management approaching $13 billion.

Tom joined Willingdon Wealth Management in July of 2004. His primary responsibilities include research, analysis, and portfolio management. Tom’s wife, Stacey, is a family practice physician for CMC Elizabeth Family Medicine. They have two children, Ellie and Jack.

Pete received his Masters in Business Administration from Campbell University in 1998. He received his undergraduate degree in Trust Management and minor in Financial Planning from Campbell University in 1998, as well. Pete is a member of the American Bankers Association, and a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor. He is a member of the Charlotte Estate Planning Council and serves on the steering committee for Estate Planner's Day at Queens University.

Pete spent 5 years with Bank of America's Trust Department in Tampa, FL as an account opening coordinator and team leader. He spent an additional 3 years with Bank of America's Wealth Management in Charlotte, NC as a local Trust Officer. Prior to joining Willingdon Wealth Management, he spent the previous 3 years with First Charter Bank as a Trust Officer in Charlotte, NC.

Pete joined Willingdon Wealth Management in February of 2009. His primary responsibilities include business development, customer service, and estate planning. Pete’s commitment to providing the highest level of personal service to our clients will be an integral part of our future success.

Pete’s wife, Leslie, has worked in Trust & Wealth Management since 2003. They have two children, a daughter, Ava, and a son, Coleman.

Brian received his bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of North Carolina  at Chapel Hill in 2000.  Brian earned his Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation in 2006.

Prior to joining Willingdon, Brian worked in various roles for Bank of America over a nine year period.  He brings a wide range of financial services experience to our firm.  At BAC, Brian managed a banking center, was a Client Manager in the Premier Banking and Investments group and a Financial Advisor in the Wealth Management Division.  In addition to helping clients with their investable assets, as a Certified Financial Planner™ Brian offers guidance in virtually every area of personal finance including banking & lending, liquidity strategies, insurance, long term care, education, tax, estate and retirement planning.

Brian’s breadth of knowledge and diverse skill set significantly enhances our wealth management capabilities.  Brian’s dedication to his clients and his commitment to the highest level of professionalism in all that he does make him an integral part of Willingdon’s future success.

Brian serves on the Board of Directors of the Bruce Irons Camp Fund, a non-profit organization that sends low income children, nominated by their teachers, to a residential camp for five consecutive summers.

Brian’s wife Lindsay is the Communications and Public Relations Manager for NPower, a non-profit technology consulting firm.  Lindsay and Brian have a daughter Ella and a son William.

Mary Lynn received her Masters in Business Administration from the University of Dayton in 1985 with a concentration in finance.  She received her undergraduate degree in accounting from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1982.

Mary Lynn has held financial analyst positions at American Electric Power and Ross Labs, a subsidiary of Abbott Labs.  Her responsibilities at Willingdon Wealth Management include operations, accounting, and client service.  Her analytical skills and attention to detail have proven to be important drivers of our firm’s success.

Ted brings extensive fixed income and investment strategy knowledge to Willingdon from his 29-year career in US Fixed Income markets. Most recently as a Managing Director of Societe Generale Securities in New York, he built a US cash rates trading desk which obtained Primary Dealer designation from the Federal Reserve and US Treasury. Prior to Societe Generale, Ted was a Managing Director at Mizuho Securities USA in New York, where he was responsible for the management of trading of US Treasuries, US Agencies, Mortgage-Backed Securities, and Corporate Bonds on a worldwide basis. Ted has also managed rates trading desks at a regional dealer and has traded treasuries and agencies in Chicago, San Francisco, Charlotte and New York City.

Ted earned his BA in Political Science and Economics from Northwestern University and his MBA in Finance from The University of Illinois.

Ted and his wife, Valorie, are active in their community primarily through their church and Habitat for Humanity. Ted is also on the Board of a Charlotte ministry, CLIMB. Ted and Valorie have two children, TJ and Catherine.

Ted joined Willingdon in March 2012. He will be responsible for portfolio management, research, and client service.

Valorie's career in Finance includes serving as a Senior Account Officer in Institutional sales servicing clients who manage investments for corporations, money market funds, and insurance companies. She sold fixed income products including, US treasuries, money market instruments, mortgage-backed securities, and interest rate products.

Valorie earned a BA from Washington University in St. Louis in Economics with a double minor in Business Administration and History. She has been a full-time mother and active community volunteer for the past twenty years. Valorie and her husband, Ted, have two children, TJ and Catherine.

Valorie joined Willingdon in March 2012. She will be responsible for marketing and client service.

Viki received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in finance and a minor in accounting from the University of Elon in 1988.

Prior to joining Willingdon, Viki worked in various financial roles for the Hearst Corporation over a 12 year period, ultimately holding the position of Director of Advertising Credit & Collections.

Viki has been active with Lake Norman Hospice & Palliative Care for many years. Her husband Blain works for Bank of America as VP Small Business Banking. They have two children, Alexa who attends the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Austin who is a senior at Hough High school.

Viki joined Willingdon in 2010. Her responsibilities include operations and administrative support.
